Poke Her Face and Nutty Grandmas

Yesterday I had a day of subbing for a 2nd grade class at our local elementary school. This teacher I subbed for is a great teacher, and her class was good! I had several kids in the class that I go to church with, and it was overall such a good day.

During the day, I had a little girl come to the teachers desk and asked me if she could tell me a joke. I replied sure, only to be so sure I was about to hear the latest knock knock joke. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Here is the joke:

BJ: Mrs. Crews, how do you wake up Lady Gaga?

Me: I don't know BJ, how?

BJ: You know POKE HER FACE

OMGOODNESS it took all I had not to fall out of the chair laughing!! BJ was so proud of her joke, and I was rolling.

THEN......

A little boy approaches me and seriously begins telling me that he can not take his work home because he lives with his mom, and his nutty grandma. I said, excuse me? You live with whom? He said my mom and my nutty grandmother. I said N, why do you call her that? He said as he rolled his eyes, because shes nuts!!

Really, these are 2nd graders and I am hearing some of the funniest things!! Kids these days are so honest and they tell it like it is!! They had me rolling, because I couldn't hold the laughter back!!

I just thought I'd share with you a little of the humor I received from the 2nd grade kiddos I was with!!

BUSY, BUSY BEE

I have been slacking on blogging as I have been super busy with hairbow, embroidery, and applique orders!! I am so thankful to have several orders!! Keep them coming!! I haven't subbed any this week, but I am not complaining. It has given me the chance to work on orders!! I hope every one has had a great week!! FRIDAY is going to be here before we know it!!

September is PCOS Awareness Month

Something that hits close to home with me. It's scary to have something that has so many "side effects", and a lot of people don't understand it. Here are a few things about PCOS:

10% of all women have PCOS

PCOS is the #1 cause of infertility

About 50% of women with PCOS get insulin resistance (which can cause impaired glucose tolerance or Type 2 diabetes)

Women with PCOS have a higher risk of miscarriage if they do get pregnant

Women with PCOS have a 4 to 7 times greater risk of having a heart attack than normal people

Women with PCOS have a greater risk of high blood pressure

Women with PCOS run the risk of endometrial cancer


Those are just a few of the many many saddening facts of PCOS.
